Brad was first exposed to glass in 1999, when he attended a weekend class in offhand glass blowing in St. Jacobs, Ontario, but it wasn’t until the beginning of 2008 that he discovered flameworking. He is self taught, with the help of information available from the internet, books, and videos. This “isolation” has resulted in the formation of a unique style, free from paradigms that can arise from formal training.
Brad is constantly trying new things and stepping outside of his comfort zone. Each piece he creates is absolutely one of a kind. He enjoys the amazing organic forms that can be created through flameworking, but also flirts with the clean forms of contemporary design. Much of his work is a combination of organic colours and textures, formal traditional shapes, and modern, non-traditional techniques. His wide variety of work includes vases and other vessels, paperweights, marbles, jewelry, and sculpture.
Brad lives and works at his home in Stratford, Ontario, where he was born and raised.
