Ever since Stephen can remember, he’s had an interest in taking things apart to see how they functioned.  Vintage gadgets of a bygone era containing the coolest mechanisms like old radios, industrial machinery, small farm equipment and retro 50’s kitchen appliances, were all built to last.  Many of them had whimsical and nostalgic designs that spoke of an artistic and easy going culture.  The classic artwork, comic books and movies of the time were filled with futuristic visions of robots, space travel and flying cars.  Combine all of this together with a dash of imagination and something was bound to happen.  The SeekRbots name Stephen works under was conceived with the premise of seeking out the old vintage material, re-building and breathing new life into it with the emphasis placed squarely on all things sci-fi and robot.  While creating these Sci-Fi sculptures in the garage from found materials during the warmer summer months keeps him busy, it left a void in Stephen’s creativity during the cold winter.  On a whim, he decided to take an introductory painting for beginners class in the fall of 2018.  Realizing how much he enjoyed painting, Stephen decided to incorporate this art form into his overall vision of classic and futuristic science fiction creativity.
