George Edward Lucas born on a cold day of November 30, 1958. I come from a big family and was raised in the country near Lake Erie. Chores were part of life on a farm back then. Free time was spent exploring nature and catching insects and snakes. As a teenager I worked for local farmers in the summers. When I graduated high school I started working for a lumber company where I learned sales and customer service skills. I obtained my class D licence and was promoted to delivery driver. I worked some construction jobs and specialized in flat roofing. I stayed with that until retirement.
I tend to be inspired by unique shapes in nature and try to transform it into a statement piece that accentuates the flow of the wood. I have many pieces of unique folk art including bird houses and feeders, gnome homes and canes and seasonal decorations. First I decide what I want to make. Then I go into the forest to look for unique pieces of wood to complete my projects.
