Berna Kilic, a resident of Milton, Ontario has been an active artist since 2004, creating art in the mediums of lampworking, jewellery and photography. Berna was born in Canakkale, a small city on the west coast of Turkey.
After several years of working in the financial area, she discovered that her true calling was to design and create with her hands. When she was searching around for precious pieces for her jewelry designs she saw a beautiful lampwork glass bead and she wanted to create and wear her own piece of art.
Berna Kilic learned the process of making glass beads from various glass artists and workshops, and years of self practice. She creates her beads one at a time at her studio in Georgetown, Ontario. She handcrafts her jewelry with her own lampwork glass beads and semi-precious gems. She then incorporates them with sterling silver and other materials to create unique one-of-a-kind pieces.
Berna’s work can be seen in her own studio and showroom at the Williams Mill Creative Art Centre, on her website, and on her Etsy shop. Berna is also a proud member of Stratford Art in the Park and sometimes participates in Arts and Crafts Shows in Ontario.
