Working at the Stratford Theatre for many years as a wigmaker, allowed me to meet and be inspired by some of the best artist in Canada. I chose the mediums of alcohol ink, acrylic paint and resin to express myself, as it allows me the freedom of creating abstracts in a delicate balance of chance and process. Acrylic pouring is an art technique where paints and various mediums are mixed and poured onto a chosen surface. By deliberately choosing colors and arranging these various elements, I let the process itself guide me to the end result. Whenever I can, I try to use up cycled surfaces to paint on such as vinyl records, wood boxes and ceramic tile, transforming these pieces into functional accent art for your home. By experimenting with colors, mediums and surfaces, I have developed a unique style that allows me to express my artistic side while creating abstract art that brings joy to me and hopefully to others. I’ve sold my work at various art shows and gift shops in South Western Ontario, and hopefully will continue to do this for years to come.
