Art has always been a quiet thread in my life, even when my days were filled with sports, raising a family, and building a demanding career as an insurance broker. Decades later, a vivid dream of painting on a mountainside, surrounded by people who didn’t speak my language, brought that creative spark rushing back. The very same day, a chance encounter with artists at Art in the Park in Stratford, Ontario led me to my first lessons and, soon after, an international artist tour to Turkey.
Largely self-taught, I work primarily in vibrant acrylics, moving between pet portraits, landscapes, florals, and expressive abstracts. My process is rooted in experimentation—layering colour, playing with texture, and allowing intuitive marks to guide the final image. Nature, music, and everyday moments of joy are constant inspirations, and I’m especially drawn to the energy of bold colour and the way light shifts across forms.
Over the years, my work has been recognized in several juried exhibitions, including First Place People’s Choice at the Blue Mountain Art Foundation juried show and KWSA Juror’s Pick of the Show- Square Foot Show. These honours are meaningful, but what matters most to me is the experience of creating—losing myself in the rhythm of paint and inviting viewers to feel a sense of wonder, freedom, and possibility. My journey is proof that it’s never too late to follow a dream and let art lead you somewhere new.
