I began painting during a summer spent in Drayton, Ontario as an actor at the festival there, having also spent three seasons previously as an actor at the Stratford Festival. It was during my time at these festivals when I was introduced to the picturesque landscapes, vibrant colors and unique forms of Southwest Ontario. The countryside and farmland surrounding places like Stratford and Drayton first ignited my interest in painting. Having come full circle, I moved here in 2023, and now call Stratford home.

My work to this point has focused on traditional landscape subjects, and tends to be bold and colorful with a rustic bent to it. Many of my pieces include a building/s or other structure/s present in the scene, as I am drawn to explore the way that human structures exist in a natural setting, sometimes blending in as though they are part of the natural order, sometimes starkly contrasting.

I am very excited to be part of the community, and look forward to a great summer with Art in the Park!
