My nuclear family and I immigrated to Canada in 2004 as skilled workers from Bulgaria. I am married and have 3 wonderful children.
I have graduated Sofia University in 1993 and have earned my Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. I have taught Mathematics at a college level for over 8 years in Bulgaria. After I moved to Canada I upgraded my education and am now a certified high school teacher in Ontario.
I grew up in a family of professional tailors who taught me sewing, embroidery and hand knitting at an early age. In 1992 I married my husband, Petyo Kecheliev whose father had a well established leather business since 1975. My husband and I opened our own leather studio in the capital of Bulgaria – Sofia – in 1998. We additionally began making and selling our own purses and bags to the existing belts, dog collars, and leashes. We had a contract with gift boutiques in western Europe to sell our leather accessories.
After we moved to Canada and settled in Milton, ON we brought along most of our sewing machines and leather tools from Bulgaria. V&P Leather was founded in Canada in 2008 to proudly offer high quality leather accessories inspired from the old world European traditions.
My husband Petyo and I are thrilled to create high quality leather accessories for our customers that are fashionable, functional and virtually indestructible. We are proud to say that we can make everything from genuine leather.
